Robseal tailor make roofing solutions to meet our clients specific requirements.
Robseal are recognised as one of the countries leading specialist in roof refurbishment
contracts, from vast areas such as 30,000 m2 of re-roofing at Blandford Army Camp,
or complex shapes and detailing as required on Olympia Exhibition Halls, through to
domestic housing projects.
The skills required in refurbishment work are more varied than those for new
construction contracts. The roofing contractor must be able to ascertain why the
existing roof has failed, as failures are often caused by poor roofing design, which if
not addressed could cause premature failure of the re-roofing system.
Site safety is of paramount importance. We must ensure a safe working
practice for not only our site operatives but the building occupants
and general public as well.
Working over occupied premises, without causing disturbance to the production
operations within the building, is often essential.
Projects over a certain size will require the appointment of a Planning Supervising
Officer, whose job it is to write a Health and Safety plan. This plan must be
incorporated into the project tender request, to ensure that all contractors bidding for
the work understand and price for all of the identified safety requirements of that
particular site. Robseal are well versed in providing this service.
Our approach to refurbishment works has provided us with a regular client list
of blue chip companies who regularly use our services. This list
includes such household names as Boots, Nestles, Rank Hovis
McDougal, British Airways, Earls Court & Olympia Exhibition Halls,
Rank Xerox and Racal as well as educational establishments like
Oxford, Reading, Cambridge and Southampton Universities, plus many
local authorities and government departments.
Robseal offer a free advisory service, which will include a site
visit and inspection, taking core samples where required. The thermal
dynamics of the building will, if required, be checked for conformity
and a full investigation will be carried out to ascertain the cause
of any premature failure. This will then be followed by a detailed
quotation covering all aspects of the work required.
